Sunday School ‘Scoop’
In Sunday school we are excited about the events and happenings for Sunday, May 11 and May 18. Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 11, 2008; it is also the Day of Pentecost and we will be celebrating all Zion’s teachers on this day! There will be a lot of the color red in church to help us celebrate this day! We’re inviting you to come and see the array of things that will be colored red this Sunday. The Sunday school students will also be making special gifts for their mothers.
Sunday, May 18, is the last official day of Sunday school for this 2007-2008 year. There will be one church service this day which will begin at 10:00 a.m. But Sunday school will begin at 9:30 a.m. so that students can go over last minute details because Sunday school and our worship service then become one at 10:00 a.m. The Sunday school students will become our pastors for the day! Their classes we be doing pantomimes of different Bible stories and the congregation will be invited to guess these stories. The fun will continue after the service with “summer’s comin’ ice cream social fare” of hot dogs, chips, lemonade, and, of course, ice cream in Fellowship Hall—and EVERYONE is invited!! It will be a delightful closing for this year’s Sunday school.
We also want to thank Shirley Bradley who made “crosses in the pocket” for all students and teachers in Sunday school---a wonderful gift to share with all us.
As we count down our last Sundays, we celebrate Zion’s children and thank them and you as parents for sharing them with us. The line between teacher and student is always interwoven---we are grateful for both.
It’s been a TRULY BLESSED year!!
In Jesus’ love,
Cary and Ellen
